In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.
--Various attributions, mainly to baseball coach Yogi Berra
Theory and practice sometimes confuse us. For some reason, practice always leads to the success of a task. Theory builts the foundation of the task. In my opinion, both are equally important. They depends on each other to built a nearly bullet proof (well, nothing is perfect) task.
Researcher explores new technologies. Practitioner refines the technologies. Good luck!
